Recalling His Name

        Do you know what it takes just to become a hero that everybody looks up to? Well, most of us would say that you need to save someone that could cost your life. Actually, you just don't need to die for something to become a hero and not all heroes died. For me, a hero must be a person who fought for what is right till the end, a person who did something not just for himself but for the sake of everyone. Just like Jose Rizal, the national hero of my country, Philippines. And he is a hero who just didn't die, he died because he fought the rights and freedom of every Filipino citizen, he wrote books that could tell you stories that could make you realize the truth about what happened in the past and at such a young age, he did all of that. And last February 18, we watched an act or stage play that made us remember who he is. 

            After our school held the student council elections, all the students and teachers went to the assumption theater just to witness the play entitled "Batang Rizal" which was created by PETA. We just went there by the jeepneys provided by our two fellow classmates since our school is just a few kilometers away from the theater so we don't need a bus to rode for us to get there. Upon reaching the venue, we just sat down at the side of the road and waited for our turn to get in the main theater. And as we are still waiting under the hot afternoon sunlight striking on us, an accident happened involving a senior student of our school who was hitted by the back of a jeepney. Fortunately, he was not badly hurt. I think we waited for about an hour at the outside of the theater and that was not a boring one. Me and few of my classmates had fun just by making ourselves busy by playing some childish games that made us laugh. 
            And then, after waiting for almost an hour under the heat of the sun, finally we are now entering the theater. The line for the boys and girls are separated. As I entered the theater I was somehow not that overwhelmed by since it was not my first time that I saw it just unlike my other classmates who was amazed by the theater. The play started so alive that everyone focused on it. It was a musical-comedy play. The conflict started when the main boy Pepito was accused that he is the one who is responsible for the loss of the statue that was donated by the mayor of their town. The play features the different attitudes of the modern students and that made the play more interesting for us to watch. And then, the play features time traveling that brought Pepito back to the time when Jose Rizal or "Pepe" as they call is still alive. The person who acted as Pepe portrayed his character well. The old background musics that were used in the play could make you feel like you're in there, acting too. I loved the parts where there is a scene that the characters exchanged dialogues that were so funny and made the play more interesting. The play also included the popular gesture here in the Philippines, the "weh" which can give off a meaning that he/she doesn't believe what you are saying. Good job for the playwrights of the play because the made the "weh song" which made the audience not to be bored during the part where Pepe was talking with her sisters. From the beginning until the end,  the play is good. 

           It lasted for about an hour and thirty minutes. Until we got back to school, all you can hear around is all about some scenes of the play that we have just watched. Thumbs up for the whole cast and crew of the play for making it that beautiful because the play made such a huge impact on us, the audience. And truly, the play made us remember who Jose Rizal, our national hero is.

Popular Dish from the Land of the Samurais

         The world of anime and manga that was created by the Japanese people is now spreading the japanese culture all over the world. Kids and teens are already influenced by the Japanese just by watching and reading those things. And some of them right now tries to make or imitate dishes based from what their eyes could witness from an anime show or a manga. And are you one of them? If you are, why not try to make this popular dish that almost all of the anime shows have shown, the omurice.

          First, let's make sure that your kitchen could supply the materials that you'll need to cook it. You'll need a mixing bowl, large wooden spoon, whisk beater, a flat spatula, frying pan and of course, a stove. In choosing the frying pan, I recommend a non-stick and a medium one. You can use any kind of stove for this dish.
          Then, let's prepare the ingredients that you'll need for the dish. Beat two large eggs on the mixing bowl, season it with a pinch of salt and a pinch of ground black pepper. Then cut chicken breast in diced pieces. You can also cut the chicken into stripes and then set it aside. Then for the green peas, if you are going to use the frozen ones, place the peas onto a mesh strainer and soak it onto a bowl with hot water first to remove the unpleasant odor of it. Then prepare a cup of steamed rice. Then you'll also need coarsely chopped onions and garlic, a teaspoon of olive oil just to saute, and a cup of tomato ketchup or any ketchup that would fit your taste.
           And now, let's prepare the chicken rice or the filling of the omurice. Place the frying pan on the stove and turn the stove on medium heat. Then place the olive oil on the pan and spread the oil just to coat the pan evenly. Just before the oil or the pan starts to bring off smoke, put the chopped onions and garlic onto the pan and begin to saute. When the color of the onions turn to light brown, place the diced chicken breast and mix or stir it well with the onions and garlic. When the chicken is already cooked, put the steamed rice and green peas at the same time to saute mixture on the pan, mix it well. After three minutes, put the ketchup on the chicken rice and distribute the ketchup evenly. Then cover for two minutes the set aside on a plate. Then you're now ready to make the egg wrap for the omurice.

           The egg wrap for the omurice is just a simple fried scrambled egg. First, heat the frying pan again and place little olive oil. Then put the beaten egg mixture. Spread the egg mixture on the pan evenly. Then, when the bottom surface of the fried egg is already formed, place the chicken rice at the center of it. The top surface of the egg should be runny or just a little bit of being runny. Then cover the chicken rice with the egg on both left and right side shaping an oblong. Then turn of the stove and grab the pan. Then your omurice is ready to serve. Wait, you should flip the omurice onto a plate placing the browner side on top.
            This popular dish is already a full meal for lunch and dinner. And this recipe is already been cooked or practiced all around the world especially to those with the knowledge of animes and mangas. Ferrero rocher does not remind me of anything unlike the other things that I have could do. I just love the way chocolates make me so energetic and alive for everytime that I could eat it. They say that this chocolate brand is not so good to but because of its cost or price in the market. But I could really say that you'll never have any regrets on buying this chocolate.
                            There are many other chocolate brands out there that can attract you by its attractive packaging and by its name. But ferrero rocher is not just chocolate that's great on the outside but also in the inside. And lastly to conclude, the worth-buying, luscious, ever-tasting chocolate of my life is soon will be yours too, the ferrero rocher.
